Despite being based in Brighton & Hove, Sophie Sheinwald finds herself dashing all over Sussex to do peoples portraits, head shots, corporate work as well as events. Having an art background has given Sophie a unique style, which she enjoys nurturing. She includes her client’s viewpoint within her work without compromising on her creative flair.
She set up Sophie Sheinwald Photography after she had children, once fellow parents saw her work she kept getting booked up! Needless to say having little ones added value in her ability to work with families.
Now she also thoroughly enjoys helping businesses to build their personal PR with beautiful, professional head shots. Sophie Sheinwald can ensure that your portraits come out sleek and gorgeous. And don’t worry if you have the odd spot or blemish as she will ensure you are looking your best.
Portraits can be done on location, with the delightfully unpredictable UK weather, or Sophie can set up her portable studio in the convenience of your home or office space.

Portraits & Headshots for individuals
Most people have photographic portraits because they have to! Often they need a professional head shot for their profile photo or acting portfolio. Scary? Yes! Impossible to be comfortable in front of the camera? No! Sophie Sheinwald can discuss what YOU need and make you utterly comfortable as well as give you wonderful results. Don’t forget you can be quirky, artistic or involve some kind of activity into the shoot. We can incorporate all sorts of ideas into your session.
The couple
In your portraits session, define your love and care of each other and what aspects brought you together as a couple. You can use the session as an opportunity to capture you both. This can be at your home or on location, it can be the simple things like cooking together, dining together or even lying in a bubble bath together!
We can also do portraits on a locational reportage session and select an area special to you both. Consider how you see yourselves and we can create some unique scenes that describe you as a couple.
The Family Portrait
Sophie Sheinwald has enjoyed capturing the growth of the family unit photographically from bump to children. Family portraits can be fun and creative and can include aspects that bond you all as a unit. It may be to do with a particular location or an activity that you all like doing together, like a picnic, out for a walk, sports. You can be as quirky as conservative you like!

Bumps create fun, artistic photo sessions and a must for any pregnant woman who wants to celebrate her upcoming motherhood. The results can create beautiful framed enlargements for your wall.

It’s important to capture baby within the very first month or wait till they are at least six months, then they can sit up and interact with camera.

Pets & Equine
A few years back Sophie Sheinwald developed a series of dog portraits inspired by her younger daughter’s interest in canines. The crouched viewpoint led Sophie to grab her camera on their walks. A photographer friend later pointed out a similarity of that work with Elliot Erwitt’s witty photographs of dogs. She was very touched.

Prices
A session set up at your home or on location is usually up to two hours. All photographs will go through a post-production process to get the best possible results.
The current pricing for a photo shoot is from £95.00 for up to two people and £160.00 for a group up to five. This includes two of your chosen post produced images emailed to you copyright free. This means you can print from the high quality JPEGs to the size and amount you desire.
You can discuss with me the styles, you may want to choose colour, monochrome or other effects.
Additionally, if after viewing all the photos on your personal online gallery you may prefer to have them all on disc, I can arrange this for an additional £180.00 or if you prefer each additional image costs £48.00.

Packages come with high quality JPEGS but Digital negatives (DNG)* are available on request at an extra cost.
* Digital Negative (DNG), a publicly available archival format for the raw files generated by digital cameras. By addressing the lack of an open standard for the raw files created by individual camera models, DNG helps ensure that photographers will be able to access their files in the future. – Adobe
Note: A digital negative is a high resolution image equivalent to a film negative, as opposed to a JPEG image which is compressed. A JPEG is a lower quality image containing what is known as digital artefacts (pixelation, blurring, jagged edges: depending on the amount of compression applied).
